Website Design & Development
The Challenge
When The Montgomery Zoo came to Productive I.T. they did not have their own dedicated website. Instead, they had a page that linked off the City of Montgomery that was difficult to navigate and only provided basic Zoo information.
The Solution
Working with the client to first develop the look of the new site, Productive IT delivered a completely custom design that not only shows off all of the amazing attractions the Zoo has to offer, but added much needed elements of functionality. For instance, the home page boasts a “News Feed” that makes upcoming press releases and attractions easy to find. We also incorporated an event coordinating option for schools, camps and other organizations to be able to register online for group trips.
We made a special effort to highlight each section with vibrant pictures and specific information pertaining to each realm, going so far as to develop an interactive map that provides the option to navigate your way through the zoo with a virtual tour (complete with spirited photography and a detailed synopsis of what visitors can find in each realm).
From the new site, visitors can join as a member or donate to the zoo. An up to date weather map displays on the home page to help plan around rain or cold temperatures that may make a visit less enjoyable. Lastly, the home page has the sign up option for the Montgomery Zoo Newsletter, allowing guests to receive a newsletter full of news, happening and special milestones.
