Ranker higher on search engines and get seen.
One of the most frequently asked questions we get from clients after building a site (or even sometimes when we didn't) is "How can I get my website to rank #1 in Google?" While there's no easy answer - don't let those slick ads you see fool you - there are several strategies that any business can use to help.
Now more than ever search engine rankings are becoming more about being social than anything else. Opinions may differ what the most important element is (keywords, reporting, link building), but everyone agrees that to get seen online your brand needs to stay active. Simply getting a website is only the prep work for what it takes to establish an effective online presence. What follows is a breif overview of the key parts of a great internet marketing strategy, each of which we be happy to explain in more depth by giving us a call.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
In a nutshell, Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving your site’s ranking in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing through the use of targeted keywords and phrases in the content of your site. The higher your ranking on these search engines, the greater your visibility becomes and the more traffic (or visitors) you’ll receive.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
While Seach Engine Optimization ensures that your website is ready for search engines to find it and rank it, Search Engine Marketing refers to every factor off-site that you can do to help as well (aside from social media which we'll get to in a second). In a manner of speaking, SEM is about making quality connections (links) with other high-ranking sites across the web such as with our Directory Listings Manager.
Social Media Optimization (SMO)
Social Media Optimization refers to increasing your visibilty and likability - two very different factors - on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and many more. Just as with SEO, it requires that you make your content as easy to find and share as possible. This could include making your blog posts easy to bookmark, sharing valuable content from other sites on your social profiles (remember, it's not all about you) or even rewarding inbound links.
Content Strategy
In simple terms, a Content Strategy defines how content that is relevant to a company will be created and shared. More importantly it outlines why this content is being created including the primary message, audience relevancy, keyword utilization and in what ways it can be delievered to your target audience. Services associated with this should include content management, article writing, SEO and channel distribution.
Pay Per Click Marketing (PPC)
Pay Per Click Marketing, also known as Cost Per Click, is a very proactive form of search engine marketing that requires purchasing advertising space on search engines, popular interest sites, and even blogs. Just like SEO, these ads rely on a knowledge of targeted keywords and strategic placement to become effective.
